Most assessments make four BIG mistakes, they:
- average rater’s feedback results – this causes the critical exceptions in perceptions or biggest problems to disappear within the average – the person receiving the feedback never learns what the extreme perceptions were
- hide the name of the person giving feedback. This prevents the recipient from having productive discussions with observers and makes the feedback process seem secretive and problematic rather than helpful and constructive
